This week on Ice is Slippery, the 4 Nations fever dream came to an end. Torches were passed and we returned to our friends on the Stars and Flyers. Michkov is on fire, Kuzmenko is adorable, and Bichsel has opened the Toblerone trauma tunnel. Also, you'll never guess which Dallas Star is secretly a capybara. 

Sid's Biggest Fan

This week on Ice is Slippery, Kate and Fred checked in on the PWHL before diving into the 4 Nations Face Off. We take a look behind the scenes at the icy rivalry between Finland and Sweden as well as the on-ice fireworks between Canada and the US, and try to figure out exactly what the deal even is with Sid and Nate anyway. Also, we took a vote, and no hockey players are allowed to have the aux cord. 

The Dallas Bubble Boys

Kate listened to Spittin Chiclets so you didn't have to! She shares some highlights from the Jim Nill interview. We also talked about The Athletic's anonymous player poll before casting some of our favorite NHL players as archetypal characters in romantic comedies. 

Anticipatory Despair

This week on Ice is Slippery, Kate and Fred talk about trade news around the NHL (particularly changes that affected the Stars and the Flyers). We also talked about this week's funniest/pettiest NHL moment, and remembered why Vegas is so villainous.

Refs Be Reffin'

This week on Ice is Slippery, we talk about conflicts in hockey both on and off the ice. The NHL is trying to do a heckin' capitalism on YouTube content creators, Fred's a little burned out on sports, but Kate is more excited about hockey than ever after attending the Stars-Avs game (let's not talk about the final score though). 

Cutter Gotye

This week on Ice is Slippery, Kate is feeling pretty positive about the Stars as long as we ignore the first 12 minutes of the Rangers game! In other news, the Flyers crushed the Ducks in Philly, and now Cutter Gauthier is just somebody that we used to know. 

Little Rat Man

This week on Ice is Slippery, Kate has overcome her fear of Sharks as long as they come from San Jose and Joe Pavelski should consider a post-hockey career as a hair model. We also discuss hockey player archetypes and identify a major missing piece for the Dallas Stars. 

Brodependent

This week on Ice is Slippery, we catch up on some news and games from the shortened holiday week and make New Year's resolutions on behalf of some NHL teams and players. Kate would also like people to please stop breaking Mason Marchment's face.
